If you or someone you know has eczema, autism, cystitis, bi-polar, ovarian cysts, toxic exposures (e.g. to Agent Orange or RoundUP), addiction, depression, Scarlet Fever, or another persistent dis-ease state, watching the video embedded in today's LWL post may be the best 2 hours you will ever spend on your health.
Jn February 2024, Living Well Locally posted “The Many Faces of American Medicine”, the first in a series exploring holistic medicine and natural modalities that fit well at the local level, with an emphasis on those that support the rebuilding of local economies around the wellness needs of the local population. So far, we’ve covered Functional Medicine and Naturopathy.
Yesterday's premiering of a new film, “Introducing Homeopathy”, provides an opportunity to showcase another holistic alternative, one that also fits well at the local level because it can be offered by independent practitioners, carried in local pharmacies, and, for dedicated DIYers, even made in home kitchens from locally available ingredients.
The history of homeopathy in America is a fascinating story. By 1900 there were 22 homeopathic medical schools, more than 100 homeopathic hospitals . . . and 1,000+ homeopathic pharmacies in the U.S. Although homeopathy declined with the advent of (and pressures from) pharmaceutical medicine, it is still alive and growing in use.
“Introducing Homeopathy” is well worth watching, especially for anyone seeking help with illness unresolved by conventional medicine and by those seeking to build a pathway to wellness that honors the body-mind-spirit’s ability to self-heal.
